Classification of tape adhesive

1. Rubber based adhesive (natural rubber adhesive)

Characteristics: This adhesive is based on natural rubber and has good initial adhesion and high adhesion. It is usually used in situations that require fast bonding and high viscosity.

Applicable products: commonly used for ordinary transparent tape, sealing tape, cloth tape, etc.

Advantages: Strong initial adhesion and good durability.

Disadvantages: Easy to be affected by temperature changes, may become brittle in low temperature environments, and has poor viscosity when exposed to moisture.

2. Acrylic based adhesive

Features: Acrylic glue is based on acrylic resin and has good weather resistance and UV resistance. It usually has strong water resistance, aging resistance and adaptability to extreme temperatures.

Applicable products: This adhesive is usually used for automotive tape, outdoor identification tape, high-temperature tape, etc.

Advantages: UV resistance, temperature resistance, good water resistance, and strong adaptability.

Disadvantage: The stickiness may not be as strong as rubber based adhesives.

3. Hot Melt Adhesive

Characteristics: Hot melt adhesive is a solid adhesive that melts after heating and is applied to the surface of adhesive tape. It solidifies after cooling, forming a strong bond.

Applicable products: Commonly used in packaging tape, especially in environments that require quick sealing and efficient operation, widely used in automated packaging.

Advantages: Fast curing, high production efficiency, suitable for high-speed production lines.

Disadvantage: Softening or reduced viscosity may occur in high temperature environments.

4. Silicone (Silicone Adhesive)

Features: Silicone based adhesive has strong adhesion, high temperature resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. Its adhesive strength can remain stable under various temperature and environmental conditions, and it has strong flexibility.

Applicable products: mainly used for special applications such as electronic tape, high-temperature tape, etc. that require high temperature resistance and chemical corrosion

Advantages: High temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and good weather resistance.

Disadvantages: The price is relatively high, and the adhesion may not be as good as rubber based adhesives.

5. Water based adhesive

Characteristics: Water based adhesive is an environmentally friendly adhesive that uses water as a solvent. It can form a strong adhesive force after drying, suitable for environments with high requirements.

Applicable products: mainly used for paper packaging tape, such as paper tape for sealing boxes and seals.

Advantages: Environmentally friendly and non-toxic, suitable for industries that are sensitive to the environment.

Disadvantages: Slow bonding speed, longer curing time required, and poor moisture resistance.
