Raw materials and chemical structure

PP strapping: Made of polypropylene, a thermoplastic with lower density and lighter weight. Its molecular structure is relatively simple, mainly composed of propylene monomer polymerization.

PET strapping: Made of polyethylene terephthalate, PET is a highly crystalline thermoplastic. Its molecular structure is more complex, with stronger molecular chain arrangement and strength.

Strength and tensile strength

PP strapping: Compared to PET, PP strapping has lower tensile strength. It is suitable for bundling medium weight goods, but may be prone to breakage or stretching deformation when handling heavy objects.

PET strapping: PET strapping has higher tensile strength and stronger toughness, can withstand greater tensile forces, and is suitable for goods with large weight or requiring high-strength bundling. PET strapping is more sturdy and less prone to damage during transportation.

Durability and environmental adaptability

PP strapping: Polypropylene material has relatively poor resistance to moisture and chemicals, and gradually degrades under the action of ultraviolet radiation, leading to material brittleness. Therefore, it is more suitable for use indoors, in dry and mild environments.

PET packing belt: PET has excellent UV resistance, acid and alkali resistance and anti-aging performance, so PET packing belt performs better when used outdoors or in harsh environments, and can withstand the impact of high temperature, humidity or strong UV.

tear resistance

PP strapping: PP strapping has poor tear resistance and is prone to breakage or tearing when subjected to friction or external impact. Therefore, PP strapping is usually used to bundle lighter or less impact resistant goods.

PET strapping: PET strapping has excellent tear resistance and is not easily torn or broken even when subjected to strong friction or external impact, making it suitable for tying heavy objects or items under high pressure.

Elasticity and toughness

PP strapping: PP strapping has good elasticity and can adapt to certain elongation, but it is prone to deformation under stress and has poor resilience.

PET strapping: PET strapping has stronger toughness, not only exhibiting higher strength when stretched, but also able to withstand greater external forces without easily breaking. It has less deformation and can maintain the stability of the goods during transportation.
