What is the production process of packing tape?

The  packing tape is also called sealing tape, which is made of polypropylene film (BOPP) as the base material and BOPP original film after high-voltage corona treatment. The production process of the sealing tape consists of five steps: procurement → making adhesive  → coating → slitting → packaging.

 

1. Procurement

 

First, purchase the polypropylene raw materials needed for the production of  bopp tape film, as well as the cartons and paper tubes used for the packing tape. If customers have special needs, our factory can provide you with customized content.

 

2. Making Glue

 

Mix the monomers of butyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate and acrylic acid in proportion, slowly add the monomer phase to the water phase, stir until the temperature rises evenly, control the phase inversion temperature at 83~87 ℃, drop initiator, then react at 77~79 ℃ for 1 h, and finally cool down to below 40 ℃, filter with 100 mesh screen to obtain pressure sensitive adhesive.

 

3. Coating

 

The finished polypropylene tape film can be processed and printed with patterns, words, customer logo, etc. The box packaging tape produced in this way is beautiful and generous, while strengthening the publicity effect, improving the product awareness, and achieving the promotion effect. Then glue and tape are coated through the tape coater. At this time, the semi-finished products are called “Tape Jumbo Roll“.

 

4. Slitting 

 

The slitting process is mainly to install the blade clamp of the specification you want to cut, mount the giant roll and mount the blade. Adjust the tube drawing machine, and adjust the position of the paper tube on the winding shaft. Pull the master coil along several shafts, put down the knife rest, inch the tape onto the paper tube, adjust the counter, and then the finished product can be produced.

 

5. Packaging

 

In order to prevent the damage of sealing  packing tape during transportation, the product shall be packaged to meet the requirements of protection and beauty. Packaging is mainly used to ensure the safety of products in circulation and facilitate loading, unloading and transportation. Our factory will first use BOPP film for packaging, and then use cartons for packaging. If you want to make the packing tape look more beautiful, we can also provide you with single roll shrink packaging.
